A safe place to practise, with no risk

Everything on Crypto Parrot uses play money. You never deposit anything, you can't lose a cent of your own, and nothing you win can be cashed out. The prices are real, though, so you learn how markets behave without paying for your mistakes.

Play money only

Real, live prices

Two ways to practise

Trade crypto like a trader, or call how real-world events turn out. Both use the same play money.

Paper trading

Buy and sell Bitcoin, Ethereum and other coins at live exchange prices. It works like a real exchange, so the habits you build here carry over.

  • Go long if you think the price will rise, or short if you think it will fall
  • Market, limit and stop orders
  • Leverage up to 5×, with take profit and stop loss
  • Several portfolios, so you can test different strategies
Prediction markets

Answer Yes or No to questions about crypto, politics, sports, the economy, tech and more. The price of a Yes share is the crowd's guess at the chance it happens: 30¢ means about 30%.

  • Every winning share pays $1 when the question is settled
  • Sell any time before the market closes to lock in a gain or cut a loss
  • Prices move with what Crypto Parrot players buy and sell
  • Compare the crowd with Polymarket's price on every market
Where your money comes from

Play money still has rules, so winning means something.

1
Borrow from the Parrot Bank

You can borrow up to $100,000. It charges 10% interest a year, added to what you owe each day.

2
Put it to work

Your cash sits in your wallet. Move some into a portfolio to trade, or use it to bet on predictions.

3
Grow your net worth

Net worth is everything you own minus what you owe. Pay the loan back and keep what you made.

Lose too much and the bank liquidates you
If what you own drops below 75% of what you owe you get a margin call, and below 50% the bank closes your positions and takes your cash. It stings, but it's only play money: you can borrow again after 24 hours.
Collect trophies

Good trading pays off in something you can show. Spend your profits in the trophy shop, from a $50 Ramen Pack to a numbered Lambo.

Earn it first

You can only spend your net worth (what you own minus what you owe) on trophies. Borrowed money alone won't buy you a Lambo.

Limited and numbered

Rare items are made in fixed numbers, each with its serial (Lambo #7 of 100), and some are one per person, ever.

Show it off

Your trophies sit on your profile. Pick one to show next to your avatar on every post and comment.

Questions
Is this real money?

No. Every dollar on Crypto Parrot is play money. You never pay anything in, and you can't lose real money here.

Can I cash out my winnings?

No. Play money never leaves the game. What you keep is the practice, your spot on the leaderboard and bragging rights.

Are the prices real?

Yes. Crypto prices stream live from a real exchange, so the market moves here exactly as it does out there. Prediction questions, their end dates and their results come from Polymarket, a real prediction market.

How do I get money to play with?

New players start with a $100,000 loan from the Parrot Bank: $50,000 goes straight into your Main portfolio and the rest waits in your wallet. If your account is older, open your wallet and borrow what you want, up to $100,000.

Why is there a loan and interest?

Free money that never runs out teaches nothing. The loan gives your choices weight: interest of 10% a year slowly adds to your debt, so you have to beat it to get ahead. Repayments pay off the interest first, and anything you pay back can be borrowed again.

What happens if I lose most of it?

The bank watches your health: what you own divided by what you owe. Below 0.75 you get a margin call and can't open new leveraged trades. Below 0.60 you have 24 hours to recover. Below 0.50 you are liquidated: positions are closed, your cash pays the debt and the rest is written off. You get a REKT badge, and after 24 hours you can borrow again at a higher rate.

How do prediction markets pay out?

You buy Yes or No shares. If you're right, each share pays $1 when the market is settled; if you're wrong, it pays nothing. Buy Yes at 30¢ and you make 70¢ a share if it happens. If a market is cancelled, everyone gets back what they paid. A 2% fee applies to each buy and sell, and you can put at most 10% of what you own into one market.

Why is the price different from Polymarket?

Each market opens at Polymarket's price, but after that only Crypto Parrot players move it. When lots of people buy Yes, Yes gets more expensive. The chart on each market shows both lines, so you can see when our crowd disagrees with the real one. Trading pauses when the result looks decided or the market is about to close.

What are trophies for?

Bragging rights. Trophies are bought with play money in the trophy shop and show on your profile and next to your avatar. They count toward your net worth at 50% of what you paid, which is also what the shop pays if you sell one back. If you're liquidated the bank takes them, unless they're bankruptcy-proof.

What is leverage?

Leverage lets you open a bigger position than your cash covers, up to 5×. A 10% move becomes a 50% gain, or a 50% loss. It's the quickest way to learn why traders respect risk. Use a stop loss to limit the damage.

Are there fees?

Yes, in play money, to keep things realistic. Trades cost 0.25% of their size, like on a real exchange. Prediction bets cost 2% on each buy and sell.

Where do I manage my open trades?

On My trades. From there you can cancel orders, close positions and change take profit and stop loss.

Can other people see what I do?

Your profile, trades and posts show in the feed and on your profile, and your results can appear on the leaderboard. Your messages are private. You can block anyone you don't want to hear from.

Is this financial advice?

No. Crypto Parrot is for practice and fun. What works here with play money may not work with real money, so do your own research before you trade for real.
